One of the most charming urbanisations in Benahavis is La Heredia, situated to the north of the golf courses of La Quinta and Los Arqueros, with access from the road leading to Ronda.

La Heredia, an Andalusian-style urbanisation in Benahavis

The urbanisation of La Heredia was the brainchild of designer Jaime Parladé and his brother Francisco, who in the 1980s conceived the idea of building an Andalusian village-style urbanisation on the land to the south of El Madroñal, the urbanisation developed by their family.

The construction of the urbanisation was carried out in two phases, the initial phase using materials typical of Andalusian architecture such as terracotta floors, typical Andalusian grilles and doors, and a second phase where installations such as air conditioning, underfloor heating, double-layer walls and various technical improvements to the homes were introduced.

The location of La Heredia offers excellent views of the Mediterranean coast, the golf courses, Gibraltar and the African coast, as well as the tranquillity and Mediterranean atmosphere so desired by foreign tourists, with small streets sheltered from the sun, landscaped areas, squares with fountains giving prominence to water and colourful facades.

Just a few minutes from La Heredia you can reach San Pedro Alcántara, Puerto Banus and Marbella, the nerve centres of the Costa del Sol, with all kinds of services such as shopping centres, restaurants, nightlife and sports facilities.

The urbanisation also has a restaurant, cafeteria, bakery, butcher’s shop and a small supermarket to satisfy the basic needs of its residents, in a gated community with 24-hour security and two communal swimming pools, one of which is heated.

On the land to the north of the village, detached villas have also been built with a clear predominance of the Andalusian Mediterranean style, with large mansions coexisting with large plots of land, medium and small villas, all of them keeping uniformity so as not to break the aesthetics of the surroundings.

La Heredia is undoubtedly a magnificent option for those who are looking for tranquillity and excellent views to live in an Andalusian village made to measure.
