La Senda Litoral, a walk along the coast of Malaga

La Senda Litoral is a project, now largely a reality, which runs along 180 kilometres of the coast of Malaga, passing through fourteen municipalities, from Manilva to Nerja.

La Senda Litoral is made up of paths and raised platforms in the sections where it is not possible to adapt the land, always next to the sea, thus forming an extensive promenade along the coast of the province of Malaga.

Manilva, Casares, Estepona, Marbella, Mijas, Fuengirola, Benalmádena, Torremolinos, Málaga, Rincón de la Victoria, Vélez-Málaga, Algarrobo, Torrox and Nerja are the fourteen municipalities through which it runs, providing the urbanisations and towns that form part of it with multiple accesses to their beaches.

It is a spectacular project that creates added value to the entire infrastructure of the Costa del Sol as it allows the development of hotel and catering establishments located on the beach and is a great attraction for all national and international visitors as its route allows the visitor to discover beaches, beautiful natural landscapes, historical buildings such as archaeological sites and watchtowers and of course, provides an exceptional place for sports.

La Senda Litoral is a spectacular project that creates added value to the entire infrastructure of the Costa del Sol.

In the stretch that runs along the coast of Estepona we highlight the area where the Cabo Bermejo, Menara Beach and Costalita residential areas are located, for the beauty of its landscape and the quality of its establishments such as the Tikitano restaurant and the Anantara Villapadierna beach club-restaurant. Nearby, on Guadalmansa beach, the promenade surprises us with a colourful swarm of sails of kite surfers practising and enjoying themselves on this beach.

Another of the most attractive and pleasant stretches for a stroll is the one located at the exit of Estepona town to the east. From the place where the Trocadero Estepona restaurant is located and passing by residential complexes such as Alcazaba Beach, Los Granados del Mar, Mar Azul and the Kempinski Hotel itself, it offers beautiful and well-kept landscapes. The area between these two sections is now finished and is an area in the process of growing in services and residential areas such as Emare, Velaya and Los Granados Playa, right up to the El Pirata urbanisation.

La Senda Litoral continues its route in the municipality of Marbella, with highly recommended stretches such as the promenade of San Pedro Alcántara that runs all the way to Puerto Banus. A multitude of establishments, beach bars and restaurants near the beach and on the beachfront offer their tasty dishes to visitors and create a very lively and cosmopolitan atmosphere.

The next stretch, from Puerto Banus to the city of Marbella, runs along the famous Golden Mile, where the jetty of the Puente Romano Hotel and the jetty of the Marbella Club Hotel stand out. On its beaches, the hotel and catering establishments offer exclusive services of sunbeds, drinks and meals on the seafront until reaching the Marbella promenade, full of shops, cafes and restaurants and even nightlife areas such as the one located in the Marbella Marina.

The project for La Senda Litoral that runs east of Marbella is in the phase of joining the sections that have already been completed. From the Artola dunes, just before reaching the Cabopino marina, there is a continuation as far as La Cala de Mijas.

In all the remaining length of the coast up to Nerja, only the sections with a complicated orographic profile remain to be completed.

Without a doubt, it has been a magnificent idea and from Benarroch Real Estate we would like to invite you to discover it, as well as to keep you informed of any news that may appear in this respect.
